Disney presenta su nueva línea de juguetes inteligentes Playmation

Adoptar un personaje de historietas cuando jugábamos de pequeños y pasar horas y horas metidos en la piel de un personaje o superhéroe seguramente lo hayamos hecho muchos/as. En esos juegos lo que importaba era la imaginación y nos valía cualquier objeto y compañero. Disney y Hasbro actualizan ahora esa manera de jugar gracias a la tecnología con Playmation

Los juguetes de la línea Playmation combinan accesorios reales, como es el caso del guante de Iron Man, con accesorios en forma de muñecos, bases interactivas (Power Activators) y aplicaciones para smartphones.

Los más pequeños realizarán «misiones» individuales o en grupo combinando varios juguetes Playmation, donde sus acciones se sumarán a la información y «puntos de control» que suponen las bases, figuras o las instrucciones de la aplicación, las cuales marcarán parte de las siguientes acciones o logros conseguidos.

La propuesta combina un par de accesorios: el primero de ellos, se coloca en los brazos y se comunica con el “activador de poder”, en donde es posible colocar las figuras inteligentes para utilizarlas como aliadas en las diferentes misiones del juego. La idea es que los niños que lleven puestos los accesorios, imaginen que son el personaje en cuestión y se diviertan imaginando escenas mientras juegan solos o en compañía de sus amigos. El set también incluye una aplicación que proporcionará diferentes tareas para el pequeño vengador.

El starter kit Playmation de Avengers, incluirá un repulsor de Iron Man, dos activadores de poder además de figuras del Capitan América y Red Skull, estará disponible en pre-ventas a partir del próximo 7 de julio y tendrá el costo de 120 dólares; los envíos comenzarán en octubre y se espera que entre 2016 y 2017 sean lanzadas ediciones de Star Wars y Frozen además de figuras adicionales.

Por el trailer, muy espectacular, parece lógico que Disney prepara en cierta manera el camino para integrar este tipo de juguetes interactivos que ya adelantó con Infinity, a un futuro donde la realidad virtual no sea algo exclusivo del juego en el ámbito adulto sino en el día a día de los usuarios.

El propósito es que los niños puedan simular las aventuras de sus películas favoritas, guiados por tecnología que mezcla juguetes inteligentes, computadoras usables, sensores de movimiento, figurillas y aplicaciones complementarias. Esto implica, en el caso particular de Avengers, dar órdenes al traje Jarvis de Iron Man suit.

En las palabras de Disney: «Pasarás por experiencias de gameplay familiares como subir de nivel, ganar puntos y completar misiones. Hay una app complementaria, pero Playmation no está pensado para jugar frente a una pantalla. Sino más bien, te convertirás en parte de la historia en la vida real, corriendo alrededor y usando tu imaginación para completar misiones y tener emocionantes aventuras».

You’ve heard a lot about “Toys to Life” lately, and Playmation flips that idea on its head. An entirely new play system, Playmation takes the best digital play experiences and puts the player in the center of the story – in real life. Instead of using toys to create a screen-based experience like “Toys to Life,” Playmation brings the best of digital to real world play, using connected toys, wearables and customized Disney stories to allow kids to play alongside their heroes and heroines in the real world. Since Playmation is not tethered to a WiFi network or a screen, you are able to play anywhere your imagination takes you.

The toys communicate with each other through a combination of gesture recognition, infrared and radio frequency technology. This allows the toys to bring the story to life around you as each toy senses your movements and actions. The wearable tech (Avenger Gear) communicates to the AvengersNet app through wireless technology to record your accomplishments, give you rewards and unlock new experiences.

For the Playmation Marvel’s Avengers system, an Internet connection is only required for certain activities such as downloading the AvengersNet app, registering your Gear with the app, and downloading new missions, but is not needed for general gameplay. The Playmation toys create their own inter-connected network to communicate and interact with each other without requiring an Internet or WiFi network or connection, so you can play anywhere.

Playmation toys don’t need the app to communicate, so you can get playing right away! Registering your Gear with the app gives you the best experience by delivering updates to your Gear, letting you see your progress, browse game locations and missions, and test and load abilities. Product comes with missions included, and more are available through the App. The AvengersNet app is not currently available but check back for more information soon!

The app will be available on select Apple and Android devices. It is currently planned to support iPhone 4S, 5C, 5S, 6, 6+, iPad: 3, 4, Air, Mini and iPod: 5th Generation, using iOS 7 or later. Information on compatible Android devices will be coming soon.

Yes, Playmation Marvel’s Avengers works outside and there is even an outside mode to improve play. Direct sunlight may interfere with your experience, so we recommend playing in the shade.

Absolutely—the Avengers are a team, after all. At launch, Playmation will support 2 player multiplayer, with additional modes to support more players coming soon.
